Many watch owners want to know what the acceptable daily rate of this movement is. From the factory standard, each movement undergoes strict QC inspection before shipment. When properly calibrated, the daily rate can stay within 5 seconds. This is the main reason why many watch dealers favor the Dandong 324/330 movement. At Niying Studio, we also test and fine-tune every watch before delivery to ensure customers receive watches with good timekeeping performance.One important point to keep in mind: the timekeeping error of a mechanical watch is not fixed. In daily wear, insufficient power reserve may cause the watch to stop intermittently and increase the time deviation. If you find the error suddenly becomes larger, do not immediately assume the movement is faulty.
You can manually wind the watch for around 40 full turns to fully power the mainspring, set the correct time, then check the time at the same time the next day. This simple method lets you measure the actual daily rate of the movement. It helps you tell whether the big error comes from insufficient power reserve or if the movement needs professional maintenance and adjustment.
Bear in mind that mechanical movement will have slight error changes affected by placement positions, wearing environment and bumps. Small fluctuations within the normal range are completely normal.
