Hello everyone. Many watch enthusiasts have encountered excessive time error on watches fitted with the Dandong 3135 movement and messaged me asking how to adjust it. Today I’m going to share practical knowledge about tuning the movement’s timekeeping accuracy.
A timing machine is an essential tool for adjustment. It provides objective reference data; it’s impossible to calibrate precisely only by naked eyes or daily wearing experience. You will also need tweezers or a tiny screwdriver to shift the regulator.Let’s get familiar with the Dandong 3135 movement first. There are two regulator studs near the shock absorber, which are the key parts for tuning. Many similar movements adopt this design. You need to gently shift the regulator with two metal contact points. Move it slightly left or right to speed up or slow down the watch.
Make tiny adjustments each time. Check the reading on the timing machine after every tweak. If the error gets worse, move the regulator in the opposite direction and repeat the process little by little until you get satisfying results.Important reminder: be careful with your screwdriver. Never poke the hairspring underneath. The hairspring is an extremely delicate component inside the movement. Damage to it will lead to expensive repairs.
One last note. If you don’t have watch repair experience, do not attempt to disassemble and adjust the movement by yourself. Tuning requires a clean working environment and steady hands. Dust or shaky hands can easily cause extra faults.
